Geometry- Louis Kahn used a grid pattern in plan to define the location of multi-story space. He also inscribed a grid pattern in the corner quadrants so that corner cut outs can be determines. In section, we see a circle prominently imposed in the center of the buildings. This creates a strong geometry feature in the buildings design.
Subtractive- This building is a primarily subtractive building. Its core is taken out to create the focal point of the building. The corners are also subtracted based of the grid system design.
